Endurance sports still fit during the recession

Moment Cycle Sport in the news. San Diego News Network posted an article on endurance sports and quoted shop owner JT Lyons.

“Endurance races are often a box to check on a person’s lifetime to-do list,” said Lyons. “They’re going to keep doing what they love to do but they’ll just cut back on the number of races they enter.”

San Diego Triathlon Classic

Moment Cycle Sport is pleased to present the inaugural San Diego Triathlon Classic on October 10, 2009. Our sister company, Moment Sporting Events, has been working hard behind the scenes since last September gathering the proper permits from many organizations to make this race into a reality. We are excited about this new race in San Diego for a couple reasons:

-Only USAT sanctioned true Olympic Distance race in San Diego (1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run)
-Sprint course available (750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run)
-Swim course utilizes a unique entry/exit ramp into the bay
-Naval Sub base access on the bike = Mclelland Dr. hill climb...twice!
-Run course through Liberty Station
-Spectator friendly transition area. See your racer 6x and you don't have to move!
-Local brew beer garden
-Probably the coolest finishers medal I've ever seen.
